New platforms can seem daunting - especially ones working with tokens and large-scale projects. Rest assured we designed and built CoMakery to remove friction at every point, so that those looking to work on tasks can do so within 5 mins of signing up, and those looking to launch projects can do so in the same amount of time.

To make sure you are set up to succeed, we recommend a few steps to get started with. In order they are:

Set Up Your CoMakery Profile

Your CoMakery profile let's project owners know more about you, while letting fellow contributors find you and create networks of similarly-interested confederates on the platform.

To build out your profile, you will need to visit the 'My Account' section (located in the top navigation bar). Here you can provide details about yourself, as well as links to your work for reference by those looking to hire contributors.

Don't forget: Confirm your email address to be able to get started.

Watch The CoMakery How To Video

When you've seen the full video, you will have a complete understanding of how the platform works and how to take advantage of it. You can see it below or click on this link.

Set Up Your MetaMask Wallet

To transfer tokens and receive tokens on CoMakery, we currently use the MetaMask wallet. Once you install their Chrome extension, then our integration kicks in and CoMakery will launch the wallet when you want to transfer tokens. When you receive them, the wallet automatically stores tokens sent your way.

For more on MetaMask: It is a bridge that allows you to visit the distributed web of tomorrow in your browser today. It allows you to run Ethereum dApps right in your browser without running a full Ethereum node.

MetaMask includes a secure identity vault, providing a user interface to manage your identities on different sites and sign blockchain transactions.

Add Your MetaMask Address to Your Account Page

Now it's time to connect your wallet to your account. Click on the MetaMask chrome extension icon (hint: it's to the right of your chrome address bar), and copy your new Ethereum wallet address, which will be pasted into the CoMakery account. Here's where you can find the address:

With the address copied to your clipboard, go to the 'My Account' page, click on the 'Setup Widget' (hint: it's next to Account Details) and in the 'Ethereum Address' field, paste your copied address from MetaMask.

That's it! With your account created and your MetaMask chrome extension setup, you can work on tasks, create projects, and begin to take advantage of all CoMakery has to offer.
